Membership
Everyone is welcome in the RBL(Hong Kong & China Branch)
Life membership is HK$220. Once. That is all.
If you served, membership is not a favour we extend. It is the standing arrangement between this Branch and the people it was founded for: you are on our list, we know your name, and on the day you need something we are not starting from nothing.
That matters more than it sounds. We are in contact with just over a thousand veterans in Hong Kong. We believe there may be as many as four thousand here. The ones we cannot help are almost always the ones we did not know about, and we tend to find them late.
If you did not serve, membership is how you stand alongside those who did.
Every member receives Lai See at Chinese New Year. Membership pays for itself in the first year and every year after it.
Types of Membership
There are three. If you are not sure which applies, write to enquiry@rbl.hk and we will work it out with you.
Veteran Member
-
Anyone who served in HM Forces, or in a Commonwealth or NATO force. This includes locally enlisted personnel of the Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy who served before 1997, members of the Hong Kong Ex-Servicemen's Association and the Hoi Luen Society, the RHKVR, and Gurkhas.
Family Member
-
The widow, widower, spouse or family of anyone who served.
Supporter Member
-
Anyone with an interest in the veteran community who wishes to stand with it.
When you join as a Veteran Member we will ask which service you were in, and whether you belong to the HKESA, the Hoi Luen Society or another association. We record it because it determines which events you can attend and which of our sister organisations you also belong to,not because it changes your standing here.
If you served, or if someone in your family served, we would like you with us.
