Royal British Legion (RBL) Statement
The personal data you provide on this form is collected and used to administer or assess any death grant application which directly or indirectly relates to the carrying out of our functions or activities.
Where an application results in the making of a financial or medical grant, we retain related records for 7 years from the date on which the case is closed to comply with Hong Kong statutory obligations (including accounting and tax record-keeping requirements). Where an application does not result in a grant being made and relates only to membership administration, related records are retained for 12 months from the date on which the case is closed, after which they are securely destroyed.
Access to sensitive personal information (e.g. medical conditions) is restricted to authorized staff involved in the assessment. Any such sensitive personal data is redacted or removed once no longer necessary for verification or audit purposes.
Your data may be transferred between our United Kingdom and Hong Kong branches subject to appropriate data privacy measures for the collection, use and transfer of data.
Under the Personal Data Privacy Ordinance (Cap. 486) in Hong Kong, you (as the data subject) have the right to request access to and correction of your personal data held by us (as the data user).
For any privacy enquiry, contact: general-manager@rbl.hk. Any unresolved privacy-related complaint should be directed to the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data in Hong Kong.
