Our Family of Organization

The RBL (Hong Kong & China Branch) operates collaboratively rather than independently. Hong Kong's veteran community comprises multiple organizations, each with its distinct history and membership. We collaborate with all of them to ensure that a veteran affiliated with one organization is recognized as a member of the collective.

Royal British Legion (UK) -  the United Kingdom's premier Armed Forces charity, The established in 1921 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1925. The Hong Kong & China Branch is an integral part of the Legion, adhering to its Charter, whilst functioning as a registered charity under Hong Kong legislation and supporting its initiatives and those of the other local veteran groups.

The Hong Kong Ex-Servicemen's Association (HKESA), established in 1997 through the merger of two predecessor organizations, serves as the representative body for locally enlisted personnel who served in the British Armed Forces prior to the handover. It functions as the public interface of the veteran community within Hong Kong. Its clubhouse located in Cheung Sha Wan provides a dedicated space for members, and its annual dinner stands as the most significant event in the veterans' calendar.

Hoi Luen Society - the Royal Navy veterans' association in Hong Kong and one of the most active within the community. Its annual dinner convenes some of the most senior veterans in the territory and commemorates the Navy's traditions throughout the year.

The Royal Hong Kong Volunteers Regiment (RHKVR) - the Volunteer Association is the successor to the Royal Hong Kong Regiment (The Volunteers), which was disbanded in September 1995. All individuals who served with the Regiment, the RHKVDC, or the RHKAAF are eligible for membership, irrespective of rank. The organization holds charitable status and operates a clubhouse located at Happy Valley.

British Gurkha Ex-Servicemen's Association and the Gurkha Welfare Trust - supporting retired Gurkhas in Hong Kong: preserving their heritage, advocating for their rights, and providing welfare and community services.
